There is no better type of present for a special occasion than a wine and cheese gift basket. Not only can the hamper be customized to suit the taste and needs of the recipient, but preparing it takes only a few minutes. It is a great way to give a homemade treasure to someone special.

When it comes to showing someone how important they are, there is no better method than giving a homemade present. The gift is easy to create and is assembled in a matter of minutes. The final product will likely be incredible.

Preparing a Basket

Preparing a basket generally take only a few simple steps. Before starting the project it is important to gather all of the parts and ingredients that will go into it. Make a list before shopping to avoid forgetting any items.

The first step involves determining the occasions that is being celebrated or creating a theme. This fact will help when it comes to choosing items to go into the basket. Someone who has been ill may appreciate soup and crackers to go along with the wine. An Easter hamper could possibly include a plant or flowers. Popular themes include western baskets complete with BBQ sauce or a breakfast gift that includes pancake mix and an assortment of jams.

Many supplies are easily found in any crafting store. Some of the items needed include a basket, which needs to be large enough to hold things, ribbon, and tissue paper or other packing material. Choose colors that are pleasing to the eye, but don’t go crazy with a lot of different shades as they could easily clash.

After all the elements of the basket are gathered, the food supplies need to be purchased. Nearly all grocery stores carry some type of gourmet artisan cheese, crackers and a selection of wines. Other items that should be included cookies, pastries or summer sausage. Condiments such as mustard and jelly are also nice to include.

Since not everyone enjoys wine, you could substitute another beverage and make, say, a gourmet coffee gift basket instead.

Construct the basket from the bottom up. First place the tissue paper or other packing materials in the bottom to create a base then add the wine bottle as a centerpiece. Place items around the container until everything looks just right. Tie a big bow on top of the basket or wrap it around the hamper and that is it. A simple gift is created with very little effort.

Fixing up a wine gift basket, to give to someone special, is not hard at all. Decide on a good theme or consider the occasion and gather all the appropriate items. Put everything in the hamper with great care and add a nice bow or ribbon. With only a minimal amount of effort an awesome gift is easily created.

Best Family Holiday

During the summer lots of people go abroad. Some people go on luxury cruises , some go for a short trip to Europe, some just visit their family, some like going on camping trips and some just hire a cottage. So this summer where would you be going with your family? There are hundreds of destinations where you can go on holiday but choose the right one where every single family member will enjoy themselves. Places such as Caribbean, Hawaii, Spain, Cuba, Egypt and many more provide all those. I mentioned hot weather that is because English summer is not know for being hot.

Holiday has been become more of a tradition as most family go on it on a regular basis. So when you nearer to the summer you start looking for a family holiday. Summer time is also the time when you get to spend more time with your kids as the schools are closed. Children are also expecting a holiday after a long school term, this gives them opportunity to forget about their past term and focus on their new term. To be honest every child deserves that. When I was growing up I always used to look forward to my summer holidays as sometimes we used to go to my cousins who lives in Australia and America. I used to love going to America as few times we travelled in a cruise to get there. First ever cruise I got on was called Silversea cruises. The cruise ship was very big. They also included several activities for children. It was a fantastic trip.

For a family holiday for all members to have fun, I would definitely suggest the Caribbean. We also went there few times it was brilliant. It is so peaceful over there with wonderful beaches and spas. Water sports is good for every one and they have amazing scuba diving sports. You can also swim with the dolphins or if you want power you have jet ski.

We are planning to go there again this summer through Voyages of discovery as they offered us a great deal and my dad couldn’t refuse. I am lookign forward to this trip as I am 16 now and I was 9 last time I went there.

Teenage Children: Take Them On A Cruise

It can often be very difficult to find the ideal holiday for the whole family, especially if your family covers several generations. But whilst younger children can be easy to keep satisfied, teenage children can be far more difficult to judge.

However, cruises may well offer the ideal option for families with teenagers. Whilst some families might think their teenage kids wouldn’t be interested, cruising actually has nearly everything most teenagers would want from a holiday.

Cruise ships (generally this applies far more to ocean cruises rather than river cruises) are packed with activities and leisure facilities, making them ideal for children of all ages. Most cruise liners will have bar and restaurants, bowling alleys, pool halls, cinemas, water slides, swimming pools and a whole host of others.

This allows your teenage kids a huge amount of choice, where they’re almost certain to find something they’ll enjoy, which they can do without needing constant supervision. One of the great things about these cruises is you don’t have to be too concerned about losing your children, as they’ll always be on the ship. So generally speaking, whatever they get up to you’ll be able to find them, or at least trust them to find their way back to the cabin.

The sheer variety of destinations on most cruises should also appeal to teenagers. They often have very short attention spans and you probably find they get bored extremely quickly and easily. With everything changing all the time however (language, cuisine, people, weather, scenery, etc), even the most uninterested of teenagers should be able to find something to engage them.

Admittedly, cruises can often be quite costly, which will put a lot of people off them. However if you put in the time and effort and do a bit of research online, you’ll almost definitely find some good luxury cruise deals to help make the whole thing a more affordable option.

If cruises on the ocean still seem to expensive for you, you could always consider one of the many river cruises available. River cruises can be just as spectucular in terms of destination as regular cruises, with Nile River cruises being a very good example of the kind of destination and route afforded to you by river cruises.

I love winter time especially when everything is covered in snow. I live in the South so I don’t get to see much snow. We decided to go on vacation we don’t even care where it is as long as it has lots of snow and great hot tubs. I started doing research online to find a place we would all enjoy and I ran across Gatlinburg, Tennessee. So last year was our first vacation there and it was gorgeous. Everyone had an amazing time.

I recommend looking on the internet to find a great place to vacation. You may be surprised when you see how many deals you can find for vacations. There are a lot of different vacation packages that you can usually find that will cover food, travel, and accommodations. You will want to know what type of accommodations you want before you start booking. Different places have different things to choose from like condos, cabins, hotels, chalets. It will depend on where you are vacationing as to which types they have.

While in Tennessee we loved the cabin we rented it was amazing. After a long day we would all put our sleepwear on so we could lounge on the floor in front of the beautiful fireplace. We just simply laid there together talking and sharing old stories. If you don’t plan to vacation somewhere cold then you will have to figure out another way to get family time in since you wont be using a fireplace.

We our kids feel asleep by the fire we covered them over with blankets to keep them warm. Then me and my wife climbed on the sofa to snuggle together as we read our suspense books. I like reading suspense with a little action mixed in but my wife prefers to read a little suspense with a lot of romance mixed in. The point is the trip brought us back to each other, we became a family again even if it didn’t last.

If you are the parents of teens or grown kids then you already know that they prefer to go off with friends and just hang with them. When you hardly ever see your kids anymore it is time to take a family vacation. It will bring your family together once again but it may not last after the vacation. Having any time with the kids is great.

After choosing a destination and booking the accommodations there is still one more thing you will want to do. Take a little time to do research to find activities for the whole family. We all wanted to ski but we needed to learn first, so I found a website online and found a ski instructor that was willing to teach us all.

You don’t have to worry about not bringing any equipment you might need for certain things because there are shops every where that rent out gear. As a souvenir for the family to take home we let everyone pick out their own ski helmet for us to buy. Then we just rented the rest. Remember it really does not much matter what you are doing or where you are doing it as long as you and your family are happy and together.

If you were given the option – take a pay cut and receive long holidays, would you take it?

Well BT have come out and said that this is what they are going to be offering their employees. Basically if the employees want they are being given the chance to take a 25% stake of there annual wages and keep it for the rest of the year, but they wont receive any more, they will then have the rest of the year as time off. Another option that is really being pushed forward is to ask some employees to take a one thousand pound lump sum and then go part time for the rest of the year.

So what’s spurred this on? BT have just come out and said how much profit that they have lost this year, in-fact they have a lost a massive 1,3 billion pounds. So their plan is to reduce the wages to all of their one hundred thousand staff, this way they can save a large sum of spending fees.

So looking at this in a positive light, what do the employees get out of this? Taking the time to be with the family will be nice, especially if the spouse is working, you will still have some income. They do mention as well, that these actions will not be forced upon anyone, they are purely volunteered by the employee. This also means that some can embark on some very long trips or soul searching holidays. Relaxing St Lucia holidays or Egypt Holidays.

However there are problems with this as well, people wont be able to afford to go on any of these holidays. However people with children although may be able to spend more time with the family, they will find it hard to cope without the spending money. But do BT really know what they are doing? Personally I believe that BT needs to find other ways of sorting out the business instead of letting its employees take the fall.

However if you are one of the lucky ones who can still afford Caribbean holidays, then you may as well enjoy the break.
