Finding Out The Real Meaning Of Christmas
Once you hear the term Christmas, what exactly goes to your mind? I think most people would love to think of gifts, food, family and probably anything that causes us to feel happy. Definitely, that is what Christmas is supposedly all about. It ought to remind us of all of the wonderful things that life brings. It doesn’t matter how small or big our income or savings may be, Christmas ought to be spent with happiness and joy. It doesn’t truly matter how little or how much we’re sharing as long as we are giving it whole heartedly. That is the true meaning of Christmas.
However, beyond the fancy gifts, personalized Christmas cards, sumptuous food or the relatively infinite merrymaking, I do think that we shouldn’t fail to remember why we celebrate Christmas.
Back when I was a lot youthful, my parents used to read me stories regarding Jesus Christ. I remember that the plot of his birth or what many of us may refer to as the nativity was actually my personal favorite. I think that it was one of the most amazing story about Jesus Christ before he was nailed on the crucifix. That is mainly because it is so humbling to learn that someone as superior as him would be born with extreme simplicity. Maybe, during that time, it was still a really inexpensive way to be born.
These days, women who are pregnant would carefully select the hospital they’re going to give birth and partners would have to save a lot of cash for this particular occasion. Prior to giving birth, pregnant ladies would have to buy plenty of things for the unborn child and we even have the modern technology that allows us to take a glimpse of just how our unborn infants look like. I guess having a baby nowadays has gotten way too expensive.
During Jesus’ time, he was delivered inside a manger. A manger is actually an animal shelter. So essentially, when Mary was experiencing labor pains, she had been with the farm animals. And if baby Jesus could see, he would have first seen farm animals besides his mother and father. There used to be no nurses and no doctors to assist them.
I really hope that whenever we enjoy Christmas or intend to send some business Christmas cards, we will always keep in mind the humility that God has shown us. And as much as we can, we must at all times make ourselves humble and grant this humility to others. I hope that it doesn’t only occur on the twenty fifth of December but the whole year round. In this manner, we would have not been fortunate to help Jesus during the time of his birth yet we will surely have lived according to the lessons and ideals that He has taught us.
