Observing a candle maker form his craft is like observing a miracle transpire in front of you.  First you see a lump of wax get changed from nothing but a bumpy mass to something that is formed like the most rounded sphere.  The trick to a handcrafted candle’s pretty form is the mold that was used to form it.  Molds are the utensils you ought to use to shape your wax.  Without molds, candles would not have the aesthetic beauty we have come to love.  People who become candle buyers and enthusiasts are mainly drawn by the shapes of the candles.

Before your buyers can come close enough to sniff your candles, they will see the figure of these candles from a distance and get fascinated.  This means you ought to make your candles as aesthetically delightful as possible by choosing your molds perfectly.  The mold will hold the wax while it is cooling and is therefore the most important utensil for designing your candles.

The liquified wax stays inside the mold after you are done putting dye and fragrance to it.  After you are done melting the wax, the next step is to pour them in the molds for setting and cooling.  When the wax has hardened, it will take the shape of the mold. To create perfectly shaped candles, your molds must have a well-defined form with no breaks in them to avoid unsightly seams on your candles.  Poorly shaped candles come out from molds with cracks in them.  There are diverse styles of candle molds, and you will also have a lot of shapes to choose from.

The following items are the molds that you must buy to get your candle production enterprise to the next level.

Heavy duty, heat-resistant molds are usually made of aluminum or metal.  For that finished, seamless look on your candles, go for aluminum molds.  These are also uncomplicated to scrub and keep.  Aluminum molds are lightweight enough to be stowed away in cabinets and even the kitchen pantry.  You can stack these aluminum molds inside your stockroom or in your cupboard without worrying about deformation during storage. Mass producers of candles usually avail of aluminum molds.  But, aluminum molds cannot be bent, which means they
are not flexible at all.

You will require a releasing agent to get the candle from the mold.

There are many other types of molds you can use for creating your candles.
Silicone, polyurethane and latex molds are other mold types you can use for your candle crafting.  These molds are more pricey than metal molds but they are more flexible.  Because of this, you don’t have to spend too much money to buy releasing agents you will need to get the candle ready for use.  Good quality silicone molds can be stretched over the candles when they’re cool.  Polyurethane molds don’t stretch as much as silicone molds but they are a lot cheaper and more readily available in craft stores. Molds made of rubber are not as popular among candle makers as before.

The most economical type of mold is the plastic type.  Small plastic bowls in your attic, even those you plan on throwing out, can be utilized as candle molds.  While you’re still a newbie at candle crafting, these will do as your practice molds.  Milk boxes, used yogurt cups and even your children’s old plastic cups can be used as candle molds.  You can even utilize old clay pans, baby food containers and small water jugs.
