Abandoned amusement parks are known as home to ghosts although they used to be a fantasy and funs land for kids and the whole family while they were in operation. Across the United States you will find a number of abandoned amusement parks that spread creepy vibes as opposed to the happy atmosphere they would have spread while they were in use by happy families and friends. The creepy atmosphere and the spooky vibes are not something that you will find only in the United States. In fact, the story remains the same in other corners of the world too when it comes to abandoned amusement parks.

In this article we shall talk about a few abandoned amusement parks and try to dig in to a little bit of history to understand what had gone wrong.  Idora Park Ohio was known as Youngstown Million Dollar Playground. Its history runs back to 1890 s and it is recorded to have been in use until 1980 s where it slowly expanded. Although the Idora Park is now uninhabited, it used to be famous for its wildcat coaster, jack rabbit coaster and the kiddieland devoted for kids. The park also included a large swimming pool that was the centre of attention of many. It wa back in 1984 that the Idora park caught on fire leaving on memories standing and nothing else.

SpreePark in Stuttgart is another amusement park that was able to capture the hearts of many. The park operated from 1989 to 2000. Sadly the destiny of the park had to depend on money. Back in the year 2000, the owners of the SpreePark experienced an unrecoverable debt of 11 million Euros for which they had to close down the park.

Rocky Point, in Rhode Island USA is a lively hangout point even as of today although it was abandoned many years ago. The specialty about this abandoned amusement park is that it used to be one of America s freshman amusement parks back in the day. Again, due to financial crisis faced by the owners, they had decided to close down the park back in 1995 which was abandoned ever since. Many people say that the government or some private organization should have taken over Rocky Point following its downfall because it represents a piece of true American history. But regrettably, the story did not conclude that way!
