Connecting a Solar Hot Water system, has an immediate effect in reducing power bills,   As long as there is a reasonable amount of sunshine, you will be able to Go Solar. Thanks to the electric booster switch, the system is not totally dependant on sunshine, and will still heat the water during extended cloudy weather.

You need three elements for installing a solar hot water system.  The sun (a given) a solar collector and a water storage tank.

The solar hot water system consists of a low key roof mounted solar collector panel and a water storage tank.{Water within the solar collectors absorbs heat extracted from the sun} {There are 3 main types of water heater, each using different technologies to harvest the sun’s energy.}

One- A roof mounted system{ or Thermosiphon system.} The collector panel is on the roof, with the water tank alongside This system works because of two naturally occuring facts, that hot water rises and dark objects absorb heat. {The collector panels are coated with a dark heat absorbing surface.  The water is heated in the collector panel, and circulates into the collector tank. The cold water from the water tank flows down into the collectors, and the process repeats itself creating a constant flow of hot water into the collection tank. The system has an electrical booster system in case of continuing cloudy days. It is also fitted with a system, to protect it from freezing in cold weather.}

{2. The split system . In the case of the split system the solar heated water from the collector panel is transferred to the tank which is mounted at ground level. The heated water is then pumped down to the storage tank on the ground, and the cool water that sits in the bottom of  the storage tank is pumped up to the collectors an electrical pump called the circulator. Back in the collectors the process continues and the cool water is heated through the collector panel.}

{3. A Synergy Heat Pump water heater doesn’t have collector panels but uses efficient heat pump technology to extract heat from the surrounding air to heat water – like a fridge in reverse or an air conditioner on reverse cycle. Like the other systems, the heat pump has an electric back up function.}

Technology is up to the minute, and will keep you in all the hot water you need, at virtually not cost to the environment.
