Are you or someone you know expecting a baby sometime soon? Why not let your gift stand out from every other gift at the baby shower? Baby gift baskets make excellent presents both before and after a baby’s arrival, and they can be totally unique or as “neutral” as you wish, making them great for all types of pregnancy, whether the parents have decided to learn the gender or not. So, how can you obtain a baby gift basket?

There are really two options for giving a gift basket. You can either make a basket yourself, your you can purchase one. Whichever option you choose, you want to make sure that the basket it unique! When you purchase a gift basket from a local shop, you always stand a chance of giving a duplicate basket that someone else at the shower may give. If you buy a baby gift basket, it’s a good idea to purchase one off the internet, where you are more likely to find a unique gift.

When making the new baby gift basket yourself, there are many things you can include in the basket. You could create a “bath-time basket” that includes a rubber play duck, wash cloths, soap, shampoo, diaper rash cream, and even a baby robe! Be sure to find out what the baby’s gender is if the parents have chosen to find out and tell others, but you may want to keep the receipts for items that are gender-specific in case the baby turns out to be the opposite gender. You also don’t have to stick to an actual basket. You can use a little mini toy-box, a re-useable plastic bucket or box (which will be great for storing anonymous baby things in the future!), as well as a Moses basket stuffed with goodies.

The recipient of the baby gift baskets should find them useful and valuable. Some of the best baby gift baskets out there contain nursery room accessories, such as mobiles, music, CD’s full of nursery rhymes, changing mats, and even some of the bigger items such as furniture. You may even come across feeding bottles, bibs, spoons, infant cups, pacifiers, rattles and teethers. Whatever you do, make sure the newborn baby gift basket contains items suitable for the baby.
