Do you think it’s unlucky to have a black cat cross your path? Personally, I think it’s lucky! In the Middle Ages a black cat was seen as a spy for a demon or witch and, therefore, as unlucky. This is the reason that witches are depicted as having black cats as friends or familiars. Contrary to this view, there are people who are happy to see black cats and think of them as good luck. Sailors as a group see black cats as luck and love to have one on board. However, pirates believed that if a black cat walks towards you then it’s bad luck and if it walks away from you then it’s good luck, but if a cat walks on the ship and then walks straight off it the ship is doomed to sink. There’s even a superstition that if a lady owns a black cat she will have many beaux. All those single ladies out there could give it a try! Whether you think black cats are lucky or unlucky they are certainly very beautiful, especially the Bombay with its sleek and glossy black coat and green eyes.
Personally, I like the Catwoman character from the Batman movies and comics. Very sexy! There have been some memorable portrayals of Catwoman and great costumes to go with it. My favorite has been Michelle Pfeiffer. Then there’s some really sexy femme feline costumes with plenty of black fur and lace as well as some really cute cuddly kitty costumes.
